Wine is an alcoholic beverage, made from fermented juice, usually from grapes. Natural chemical balance of grapes allows them to ferment without adding sugars, chemicals, enzymes, or any other nutrition. Grape wine is created by aging crushed grapes using various yeast. Yeast consumes the sugars within the grapes and converts them into alcohol. Different types of grapes and strains of yeasts produce various kinds of wine.
Wines produced from other fruits, for example apples and berries, are usually named following the fruit that they’re created (for instance, apple wine or elderberry wine) and therefore are generically known as fruit wine or country wine (to not be mistaken with in France they term vin p pays). Others, for example barley wine and grain wine (i.e., sake), are manufactured from starch-based materials and resemble beer and spirit a lot more than wine, while ginger root wine is prepared with brandy. In these instances, the word “wine” refers back to the greater alcohol content as opposed to the production process.The commercial utilization of the British word “wine” (and it is equivalent in other languages) remains safe and secure legally in lots of areas.
